The U.S. House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government has released a four part report suggesting the Harris-Biden Administration utilized federal agencies and resources to censor and restrict Americans. The document, Final Report: The Weaponization of the Federal Government, claims First Amendment rights have been violated, certain Americans have been unjustly targeted by the FBI, law enforcement, and other federal agencies, and whistleblowers have faced retaliation for exposing fraud and abuse.
Key concerns involving the American public include “proposed opportunities for the FBI to infiltrate Catholic churches as a form of ‘threat mitigation,'” “the Biden Administration’s use of federal law-enforcement and counterterrorism resources against parents voicing concerns […] at local school board meetings,” and “several civil liberties abuses at the IRS” relating to unannounced field visits. The report also alleges the Federal Trade Commission is attempting to interfere with freedom of speech by harassing Twitter following Elon Musk’s acquisition, “the Biden-Harris Administration is funding the development of AI-powered speech-monitoring tools that could enable the mass censorship of American speech,” and there was pressure placed on Facebook to censor posts made on the platform. The subcommittee emphasized its concerns about federal government overreach and stated it “will continue oversight to prevent individuals from using the authority of the federal government for their own partisan desires.”
