Thousand Oaks Shooting

November 7, 2018:

At the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, CA, at approximately 11:20 pm,  a gunman opened fire in the building packed with hundreds of patrons. He first shot the unarmed security guard outside, and then went in and continued shooting, injuring other security workers, employees, and patrons. He was armed with a legally purchased Glock 21 .45-caliber handgun, though it had a high-capacity magazine. Minutes into the attack, the gunman posted on his social media account expressing his thoughts on what the aftermath would be like. His motive is yet unknown.-(USA Today)

In total, 12 people were killed, including Ventura County Sheriff, Sgt. Ron Helus. One victim had previously survived the Las Vegas shooting last year.
