“Elliot Rodger, 22, armed with a handgun and several knives, began shooting in the first of 17 locations in Isla Vista, California. After stabbing 3 inside his apartment earlier that day, the shooter began driving through town, shooting from his car. He killed 3 and wounded 7 and struck and wounded another 7 with his vehicle. A total of 6 people were killed; 14 were wounded. The shooter committed suicide after being wounded during an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement.” — FBI, Active Shooter Incidents
