John Russell Houser entered the Grand 16 Theater in Lafayette, Louisiana and opened fired on an audience viewing a screening of “Trainwreck”, killing two people and injuring nine before killing himself. Upon investigation it was found that he had a history of mental health problems, but legally purchased the used gun from an Alabama pawn shop. He had been vocal on social media about his anti-government extremist sentiments, and investigators found a journal outlining his scattered thought processes leading up to the event.—(Global Terrorism Database)
