At 2:22 p.m. PST, San Mateo County Sheriffs were called to the 12700 block of San Mateo Road in Half Moon Bay, CA in response to the report of a shooting at an agricultural facility (KRON4). Four deceased victims along with one critically injured survivor, all due to gunshot wounds, were discovered at Mountain Mushroom. Three additional victims, also deceased due to gunshot wounds, were found at a second agricultural facility.
The motive for the shooting, while initially unknown, was determined to stem from an employee, angry over workplace issues. 67-year-old Zhao Chunli was identified and arrested at the Half Moon Bay sheriff’s substation at approximately 4:40 p.m. PST, where the legally purchased handgun was recovered from his vehicle (SF Gate).
