2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season

2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season

The 2020 Atlantic Hurricane season was the most active season on record with 31 tropical/subtropical storms, all but one becoming a named storm, and 13 of which became hurricanes.  This is the first time that the Greek names Eta, Theta, and Iota have been used to name storms (the Greek alphabet is used when the list of designated names for a storm season has all been used). Damages from the very active season are expected to surpass $41 billion, and there were altogether over 400 fatalities in all affected areas in and out of the United States. (Disaster Philanthropy)
