REMM Updates Mobile App for Radiation Event Response
The Radiation Emergency Medical Management (REMM) of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) has released updated versions of their mobile apps for mobile platforms and has included updates to their full site.
The mobile app, called Mobile REMM, provides guidance for health care providers as well as evidence-based, usable radiation information. It also includes patient management for radiation exposure and contamination and emergency contacts. Mobile REMM is free for Smartphone and mobile users and can be found for iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and other mobile systems in their respective markets.
Mobile REMM is produced by the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
The full REMM site provides comprehensive guidance on the diagnosis and treatment of radiation-related illnesses for health care providers. It has detailed descriptions of types of radiological emergencies, initial incident activities, tools, guidelines, and other references.
