QuickRoute Navigation App Now Available for First Responders

This image shows an ambulance with flashing lights driving on a highwayOn March 5, 2021, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) announced the release of QuickRoute, a navigation application geared especially for first responders.  Three years in the making, the highly anticipated app “addresses more challenges than a typical GPS application, including narrow lanes, inclement weather, downed power lines, and other hazards.”  A free civilian version is also available for download in the Apple App Store.  According to its developer, Azimuth1, LLC, an Android version has not yet been made available, but is expected to be released soon in the Google Play Store.
