No civil rights violations by Patriot Act says IG


A new Inspector General’s report found that there were no instances found where the US Patriot Act violated civil rights or civil liberties. Opponents of the Act asserted that though rights and liberties were not violated by the Act itself, several abuses attributed to Justice personnel were identified prompting one lawmaker to call on the Attorney General to review his department’s behavior.
