In Focus: Disaster Fatigue

New In Focus now available on the Disaster Fatigue.

A collection of resources focused on disaster fatigue of first responders. Described by Fresno County Director of Behavioral Health Dawan Utecht, “Disaster fatigue is a term used to really describe a collision of many disasters.” Back-to-back crises can lead to the decomposition of good mental health, which can then lead to a feeling of hopelessness, depression, and anxiety. The resources in this collection present reasons for disaster fatigue and what first responders and others affected by an onslaught of concurrent crises can do to address and minimize the effects of disaster fatigue.
