2018 Status of Global Religious Freedom

Large group of people gathered together in a town square, kneeling down and bowed over in worshipCongress’s 2018 Report on International Religious Freedom was released on June 21, 2019. The report, covering each country’s policies that violate religious beliefs, practices, denominations, and the United States’ role in promoting freedom of religion, is released annually and semi-annually by the U.S. Department of State and joins the repository of past reports, going back to 2001.

The interactive web page hosting the report features a drop-down menu that links to an up-to-date, detailed report on the status of religious freedom for each of the 197 countries of the world. The data is measured by the local religious demographics, and the status of government and societal respect towards each recognized religion.
