FEMA Wants Feedback on the Updated National Incident Management System (NIMS)

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has published the draft of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) refresh, and is requesting feedback from the community. During this period of national engagement, which ends on May 9, 2016, all stakeholders are encouraged to download the draft of the refreshed NIMS and the feedback matrix. As described by the website, NIMS is the cornerstone of the National Preparedness System (NPS) and “provides the template for the management of incidents and operations in support of all five National Planning Frameworks.”

FEMA will also be hosting 10 webinars which “highlight key proposed changes to NIMS, provide information on submitting feedback and answer participant questions. All webinars are open to the whole community, including individuals and communities, the private and nonprofit sectors, faith-based organizations and all governments.” Please click here for more information, and to register for the webinars, as advanced registration is required due to limited space.
