FEMA Seeks Public Feedback
The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Integration Center is requesting public feedback for updates to the state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) National Incident Management System (NIMS) Implementation Objectives. The National Engagement period is open from January 16, 2018 to February 5, 2018.
The purpose of this National Engagement is to obtain stakeholder input in the updating of the 2009 SLTT NIMS Implementation Objectives, in efforts to verify that they are consistent with the Third Edition of NIMS, which FEMA released in October 2017.
Throughout the course of this three-week period, FEMA will host a series of thirty-minute webinars that will cover the proposed updates to the NIMS Implementation Objective and answer questions. There will be three webinars, scheduled for January 18, 22, and 23. These webinars are open to the public (registration for webinars is required), and all three will cover the same information.
Further information regarding the NIMS Implementation Objective and National Engagement, as well as links to webinar registration are available here, under the subtitle “NIMS Implementation Objectives National Engagement.”
FEMA also provides the draft SLTT NIMS Implementation Objectives and a comment form, both of which are available here. For more background information, the NIMS supporting documents can be found here.
