FBI to boost numbers of Analysts

Responding to criticism of the alleged failure to connect the dots leading to September 11, the FBI is recruiting 900 new analysts. This would be an increase of 76 % with more than half of them assigned to combating terrorists. The analysts will be looking at raw intelligence from the CIA, Homeland Security Department and other federal agencies. Response to this move have been positive with the congressional September 11 investigators adding that they wanted assurances that analysts have adequate access to intelligence and case files.
