Diplomatic Readiness Initiative makes difference

U.S. Missions worldwide have already benefited from the two-year-old Diplomatic Readiness Initiative, a program to hire qualified people for critical positions abroad, including Foreign Service specialists, generalists, and Civil Service employees with needed language and technical skills. Many of these individuals are serving in locations like Baghdad, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey, and they are involved in a variety of post-9/11 tasks.
