‘Current and Future Worldwide Threats’: Testimony from DNI Clapper and LTG Flynn Before SASC

Seal of U.S. SenateOn February 11, 2014, the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) held a hearing on “Current and Future Worldwide Threats” which featured testimony from Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper and Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Lieutenant General (LTG) Michael T. Flynn. The testimony of DNI Clapper and LTG Flynn focused on current and future threats to national security, including “cybersecurity, future military cooperation with Afghanistan, the threat of Iran’s nuclear program, the national security risks followed by the Edward Snowden leaks, the impact of sequestration, and modernization of the Chinese and Russian militaries.” This hearing provides one of the most comprehensive unclassified summaries of current national security threats.
