This report, Active Shooter Incidents in the United States in 2019, outlines the 28 active shooter incidents that occurred in the United States in 2019.

The FBI differentiates “active shooter incidents” from all gun-related shootings by defining active shooter incidents as one or more gunman attempting to kill a large number of people in a populated area. They further indicate that, in an active shooter situation, both the public and law enforcement have the opportunity to affect the outcome.

The report offers graphs and maps that illustrate the shooters’ demographics, the locations targeted, and the outcomes of the incident. It also includes a list of each incident with a brief description, identifying the location of the incident, the shooter(s), their weapon(s), and the number of people killed and wounded.
