Access to the Homeland Security Digital Library
While over 100,000 Homeland Security Digital Library (HSDL) resources are openly accessible to the public, approximately one half are limited to professionals in the homeland security enterprise (learn more). See the options below to determine whether you are eligible for access to the full collection.
Individual Access
Access to the full HSDL Collection with an individual username/password account from the NPS Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS).
Eligible to U.S. citizens who are:
- Federal, territorial, tribal, state, or local U.S. government officials; or
- Members of the U.S. military; or
- Homeland security researchers, academics, or students enrolled at or employed by a U.S. academic institution; or
- Public-sector security staff protecting organizations vital to U.S. infrastructure.
Organization-wide Access
Access to the full HSDL Collection for everyone within your agency or university network via IP range.
Eligible to U.S. organizations that are:
- Federal, territorial, tribal, state, or local U.S. government agencies; or
- Military installations; or
- Public-sector research institutions or university libraries.
Restricted Collection Access
Access to the separate Restricted Collection with an individual username/password account from the NPS Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS).
Eligible to U.S. citizens who are:
- Federal, territorial, tribal, state, local U.S. government officials; or active members of the U.S. military.
- You must be granted Individual Access first.
- You must be able to verify eligibility with an official email address issued by your agency.
- Access must be re-requested every six months.
