This is the October 23, 2013 hearing on "Impacts of a Continuing Resolution and Sequestration on Acquisition and Modernization" before the House Committee on Armed Services, Subcommittee on Tactical Air and Land Forces. In the hearing, representatives from each of the armed service branches' acquisition entities spoke to the shortfalls incurred by Continuing Resolution (CR) and Sequestration. Air Force concerns ranged from procurement of the F-35A Joint Strike Fighter to development of the Long Range Strike Bomber. Navy and Marine Corps concerns focused on decreased global presence and thwarted shipbuilding and aviation maintenance schedules as a result of the CR and Sequestration. The Army's concerns focused on reduced investment in science, technology, engineering, and manufacturing (industrial base) as a result of the CR and Sequestration. The Army also spoke to the long-term effects on its helicopter and tank assets. Statements, letters, and materials submitted for the record include those of the following: James O.
