Homeland Security Presidential Directive 6: Directive on Integration and Use of Screening Information to Protect against Terrorism

Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) 6 concerns the use of information about individuals known or suspected to engage in terrorist activities. The new policy of the United States is to develop, integrate, and maintain thorough, accurate, and current information about individuals known or appropriately suspected to be or have been engaged in conduct constituting, in preparation for, in aid of, or related to terrorism. The directive also states that information shall be used to support federal, state, local, territorial, tribal, foreign-government, and private-sector screening processes, and diplomatic, military, intelligence, law enforcement, immigration, visa, and protective processes.
