National Military Strategy for Cyberspace Operations (U)
United States. Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
"Operations in cyberspace are a critical aspect of our military operations around the globe. The enclosed [National Military Strategy for Cyberspace Operations (NMS-CO)] is the product of significant reflection and debate within our military and government. It describes the cyberspace domain, articulates threats and vulnerabilities in cyberspace, and provides a strategic framework for action. The NMS-CO is the US Armed Forces' comprehensive strategic approach for using cyberspace operations to assure US military strategic superiority in the domain. The integration of offensive and defensive cyberspace operations, coupled with the skill and knowledge of our people, is fundamental to this approach. Implementation of this strategy will help ensure that our Armed Forces have the capacity to conduct cyberspace operations in support of US national interests in the years ahead."
