Secretary Napolitano Applauds President Obama's Intent to Nominate Richard Serino as Deputy Administrator of FEMA [July 10, 2009]

"U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano today applauded President Obama's intent to nominate Richard Serino--who brings 35 years of emergency management and emergency medical services experience--as Deputy Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA). 'Richard's decades of service responding to and managing emergencies will be an asset to our Department,' said Secretary Napolitano. 'I look forward to working with him to strengthen our capabilities and reinvigorate our preparedness, response, and recovery efforts across the country.' As Deputy Administrator of FEMA, Serino will work with Administrator Craig Fugate to build, sustain, and improve the Department's capacity to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards."
