The Department of Defense All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) has released its annual report, Fiscal Year 2024 Consolidated Annual Report on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena.
Unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) are observations of events in the sky that cannot be identified from a scientific perspective. The AARO works to document, analyze, and, whenever possible, resolve UPA incidents and make such a report available to Congress.
This report details UAP incidents from May 1, 2023 to June 1, 2024, as well as incidents that were not covered in previous reports. For the reporting period, the AARO received 757 UAP reports during this period and at the report’s publication, 292 cases were resolved to be common or naturally occurring phenomena. None of the reports indicated adverse health effects on observers nor was there any confirmation that incidents could be attributed to foreign adversaries.
AARO’s ability to resolve cases, as addressed in the Fiscal Year 2023 Consolidated Annual Report on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, is hindered by the need for sufficient and timely sensor technology capabilities. The office will continue to collaborate and develop partnerships with government, academia, and private organizations to improve in its mission.
