Comprehensive Low-Level Radioactive Waste Management Plan for the Commonwealth of Kentucky
"The Commonwealth of Kentucky was awarded a grant from the Department of Energy in September, 1981, to develop a plan for low-level radioactive waste (LLRW) management; to participate in national, regional, and state meetings regarding the management of Kentucky's LLRW; to examine specific LLRW technologies for disposal; and to formulate and coordinate policy-level planning. To accomplish these goals, the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet (NREPC) solicited comments and suggestions from various sources. A Low-Level Radioactive Waste Coordination Committee was established and coordinated by the NREPC to examine the feasibility of operating a storage/treatment facility for Kentucky generated LLRW."
