  This presentation is from track one of the 4th Annual Homeland Defense and Security Education Summit held on February 24 and 25, 2010 in Washington D.C. This presentation provides information regarding environmental security. The authors define environmental security as: "an interdisciplinary study of the affects of extreme environmental or climatic events which can act locally or trans-nationally to destabilize countries or regions of the world resulting in either geopolitical instability, resource conflicts or vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure, or some combination of these."
