Exposure of Manufactured Housing to Wind in Hurricane Charley
This map provided by HAZUS-MH (Hazards U.S. - Multi Hazard), illustrates how manufactured housing in four SW Florida counties: Sarasota, Charlotte, Desoto, and Lee, were effected by the wind in Hurricane Charley. It also describes how HAZUS-MH can be used in pre-disaster preparation: Identification of manufactured housing (pre-1994) that is most vulnerable to wind, and estimation of the number of households that occupy manufactured housing, including low-income and elderly. In a post-disaster situation, it can be used to identify manufactured housing sites that have experienced peak gust winds in excess of 110 mph. It can also be used for application of estimates for damage assessment planning and search and rescue (SAR), and identification of manufactured housing sites that have a high probability of experiencing at least moderate damage.

World View: The 1996 Strategic Assessment from the Strategic Studies Institute
"Strategic Studies Institute (SSI) analysts annually assess the strategic equation for their particular area of interest. These 1996 strategic assessments are crucial for two reasons. First, the post-Cold War world remains complex. These complexities present the nation and the Army with diverse and potentially perilous challenges. To remain the world's best Army in the 21st century, possible strategic challenges must be defined clearly. Second, the Army is addressing this strategic context at a crucial juncture when planned downsizing is nearly completed and the Army 5 vision of the future is being transformed into modernization requirements through the Force XXI process. Reduction of Army spending continues to be a important issue."
