From the opening statement of Adam Smith: "We are here this morning to get an update from the Department of Defense on their evolving roles and missions in response to the COVID-19 [coronavirus disease 2019] pandemic. [...] [A]s we go forward, it is going to be really important to see how the Department of Defense can help with the vaccine distribution. I would really like to learn this morning more about how you are participating in that, how you are coordinating with FEMA [Federal Emergency Management Agency] and HHS [Department of Health and Human Services] to maximize the most rapid distribution of the vaccine possible."
