ABSTRACT

Building Consensus on Research Priorities in Elder Mistreatment   [open pdf - 229KB]

From the Abstract: "A survey of 26 leading U.S. elder abuse and financial exploitation researchers served as the basis for prioritizing critical knowledge gaps in the field. Three major themes emerged from this effort: (1) the need for psychometrically sound and consistent measurement; (2) research on strategies to prevent elder abuse and financial exploitation; and (3) the need for research on specific causes or risk factors as well as consequences for each type of abuse and exploitation. The survey results provide evidence for a targeted national elder abuse and financial exploitation research agenda."
