Income, Poverty, and Health Insurance: 2020 [presentation] [open pdf - 5MB]
From the Highlights: "[1] Real median household income decreased 2.9 percent to $67,500 between 2019 and 2020. [2] The official poverty rate in 2020 was 11.4 percent, up 1.0 percentage point from 2019. In 2020, there were 37.2 million people in poverty, an increase of 3.3 million people from 2019. [3] The Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM) rate in 2020 was 9.1 percent. This was 2.6 percentage points lower than 2019. [4] The percentage of people with health insurance coverage for some or all of the calendar year 2020 was 91.4 percent."
