From the Background: "The DOI [Department of the Interior] Pandemic Plan [hyperlink] was updated in January 2021 based on lessons learned from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) experience and other biological incidents, such as SARS [Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome], MERS [Middle East respiratory syndrome], Zika, H1N1 [Hemagglutinin 1 Neurominidase 1] and Ebola. The revised DOI Pandemic Plan [hyperlink] serves as a non-disease-specific response and recovery framework that is used as a foundational plan to formulate the DOI COVID-19 Workplace Safety Plan and other DOI COVID-19 response and recovery plans. The overarching goal of the 'DOI COVID-19 Workplace Safety Plan' is to: A. Halt the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) by relying on the best available data and science-based public health measures; B. Prioritize the health and safety of the federal workforce; and C. Sustain the mission of the Department and mitigate impact to the environment, natural resources, economy, and the functioning of society."
