This is the June 3, 2020 virtual hearing on "Promoting Inclusive Lending During the Pandemic: Community Development Financial Institutions and Minority Depository Institutions," held before the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Financial Institutions of the Committee on Financial Services. From the opening statement of Blaine Luetkemeyer: "Today's hearing focuses on promoting inclusion in lending, particularly with respect to Minority Depository Institutions (MDIs), and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). As we know, MDIs and CDFIs make up a significant portion of the banking services for minority-owned businesses, in majority/minority neighborhoods. [...] In light of the events over the last few weeks, it is important that we conduct this hearing with the understanding that every member of this subcommittee agrees that there is no place for racism in banking, and, more importantly, in our society." Statements, letters, and materials submitted for the record include those of the following: Lisa Mensah, Michael T. Pugh, Samuel C. Scott III, James H. Sills III.
