This document provides a one year timeline of significant events related to COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019), starting with "Potential Patient Zero (Wuhan, China)" on November 17, 2019 and ending with "Global COVID-19 cases exceed 54 million, with more than 1.32 million deaths. New daily cases have recently spiked up the most across Europe and the U.S." on November 16, 2020. Each timeline event notes whether it is a global event, a U.S. event, or an event associated with the Department of Defense (DOD).
