From the Key Updates: "Indicators that track influenza-like illness (ILI) and COVID-19 [coronavirus disease 2019]-like illness (CLI) and the percentage of laboratory tests positive for SARS-CoV-2 [severe acute respiratory syndrome 2] have continued to decrease nationally since mid-July. Regionally, from week 33 to week 34, six of ten regions reported decreasing or stable (change of ≤0.1%) ILI, CLI, and percentage of laboratory tests positive for SARS-CoV-2; however, two regions reported an increase in the percentage of specimens testing positive for SARS-CoV-2, and two regions reported an increase in ILI visits. Weekly hospitalization rates and mortality attributed to COVID-19 declined during week 34. Mortality attributed to COVID-19 remains above the epidemic threshold."
