People experiencing homelessness are at risk of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for several reasons: [1] They are more likely than the general population to live in congregate settings, like homeless shelters, where it is much harder to prevent transmission of coronavirus than in a single family home; [2] They are more likely than the general population to have underlying comorbidities that put them at increased risk of severe disease if they contract COVID-19."
