This is the September 13, 2018 hearing on "Army Futures Command: Will it Help?" held before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Readiness of the Committee on Armed Services. According to the opening statement of Joe Wilson, the hearing was convened to allow the "Under Secretary of the Army and the Commander of the Army Futures Command [to talk] about the reasons the Army decided to establish a new major command, the most significant restructuring of the institutional Army since the 1970s. Because this new entity will work within the existing Army structure, the subcommittee [was particularly] interested in learning [(1)] how the Army Futures Command will work with other important players in the Army modernization process. [...] [and (2)] how the Army intends to overcome the obstacles to improvement that have frustrated so many who have tried to overcome them."
