This is the July 15, 2019 hearing on "Overcrowding and Prolonged Detention at CBP [U.S. Customs and Border Protection] Facilities," held before the U.S House of Representatives Subcommittee on Immigration and Citizenship of the Committee on the Judiciary. The hearing was convened following the release of two management alerts from the DHS Inspector General (IG) on May 30, and July 2, 2019. From the opening statement of Zoe Lofgren the alerts detail the "dangerous conditions at U.S. Customs and Border Protection facilities in Texas. According to the IG, at some of these facilities, conditions are so bad that they require immediate attention and action."
