Hamilton: "Today, the Subcommittee on Europe and the Middle East meets in open session with Deputy Secretary of State Warren Christopher to discuss supplemental fiscal year 1979 and fiscal year 1980 aid requests for Turkey and Oman.The administration requested on April 30, 1979, a foreign military sales (FMS) financing program of $15 million for fiscal year 1980 for Oman. Earlier, on April 10, 1979, the President transmitted a bill to authorize supplemental economic support for fiscal year 1979 for Turkey of $100 million under the Economic Support Fund. On April 26, 1979, a request was made for an amendment to the fiscal year 1980 legislation to authorize $50 million in grant MAP assistance for Turkey."
