ABSTRACT

Department of Energy Gasohol Policy: Hearing Before a Subcommittee of the Committee on Government Operations, House of Representatives, Ninety-Sixth Congress, Second Session, July 28, 1980   [open pdf - 28MB]

This is the July 28, 1980 hearing on "Department of Energy Gasohol Policy" held before the Subcommittee of Committee on Government Operations, House of Representatives. From the opening statement of Toby Moffett: "On May 2, 1980, the Energy Research Advisory Board transmitted to the Secretary of Energy, Secretary Duncan, a report on gasohol prepared by its Gasohol Study Group. The report was immediately criticized as a biased, haphazard, and unscientific attempt to explore the many complex issues involved in the production of gasohol. The most controversial aspect of that report was its preference for coal- based gasohol over grain-based gasohol." Statements, letters, and materials submitted for the record include those of the following: James Childress, Bert Greenbglass, Tina Hobson, Michale R. Ladisch, Toby Moffett, and Robert M. Peart.
