"The CRISPR [Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats]-Cas9 gene editing technique has received much media attention in the life sciences over the past few years. This is due to its vast potential for transforming the field of synthetic biology, accelerating the prevention and treatment of disease, and developing new products to improve human life--CRISPR-Cas9 is also significantly cheaper, easier, and quicker to use than previous gene editing techniques."
