This testimony compilation is from the September 14, 2016 hearing on "Next Generation Air Space Control - Ensuring Air Force Compliance by January 1, 2020," before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Seapower and Projection Forces of the Committee on Armed Services. Four members of the U.S. Air Force prepared a joint statement regarding the "1 January 2020 mandate by the FAA [Federal Aviation Administration] to use ADS-B Out [Automatic Dependant Surveillance-Broadcast] in a significant portion of the National Airspace System." Aircraft that does not possess the ADS-B Out will likely be restricted, resulting in diminished combat capabilities and operational efficacy.
