This is the February 2, 2016 hearing on "Status of the Public Safety Broadband Network" held before the Subcommittee on Communications and Technology of the Committee on Energy and Commerce. The purpose of this hearing was to determine the progress of FirstNet's nationwide implementation of the Public Safety Broadband Network as mandated by Congress in the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012. In addition to understanding the progress of this implementation, this hearing also seeks to identify other key aspects surrounding FirstNet's funding, particular challenges it is facing, as well as future steps for building out a network for first responders.
