From the statement of Steve A. Linick: "State OIG [Office of Inspector General] differs from most OIGs in that it has a mandated inspection function. We are statutorily required to periodically inspect and audit every domestic and overseas operating unit around the world. Since the beginning of my tenure, we have redoubled our efforts to address some of the top challenges of the Department, including the protection of people and facilities, the management of contracts and grants, and the security of sensitive information around the world. I will elaborate on each of these." Statements, letters, and materials submitted for the record include those of the following: Steve A. Linick.
