From the Summary of Subject Matter: "The Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management will hold a hearing on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building for a hearing titled 'Pacific Northwest Seismic Hazards: Planning and Preparing for the Next Disaster.' The purpose of the hearing is: (1) to assess the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) role in earthquake hazard preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery; and (2) to examine the efforts of the Pacific Northwest and seismic hazard experts to reduce disaster impacts and build stronger communities.
