United States Customs and Border Protection Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism C-TPAT: Importer Security Criteria [open pdf - 2MB]
This document outlines the importer security criteria that have been in place as of May 25, 2005. On that date, United States Customs and Border Protection started requiring that all maritime cargo containers entering the U.S. from foreign points of origin must be secured with a high-security barrier seal which conforms to strength values as specified in the ISO-17712 Standard. These criteria are discussed in great detail in this document.
