"In June 1998, the Center for Domestic Preparedness [CDP] opened its doors as a training center for the Nation's emergency responders. The CDP's mission is to operate a Federal training facility specializing in advanced hands-on training for America's Federal, State, local, tribal, parish, and private emergency responders, to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from terrorist acts, especially those involving weapons of mass destruction or hazardous materials. The CDP's interdisciplinary resident and non-resident training courses promote greater understanding among 10 diverse responder disciplines."
