This fact sheet, published by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, describles geospatial-intelligence (GEOINT) as the use of imagery, imagery intelligence, and geospatial data to describe and depict features and activities and their location on the Earth, helping users visualize what is happening, where it is happening, and why it is happening. The agency is part of the U.S. Intelligence Community and its mission includes providing information and services to ensure the safety and security of America's homeland, as well as supporting government agencies during humanitarian and disaster relief and recovery operations.
