The Nuts and Bolts of These Community Preparedness Recognition Programs [open pdf - 2MB]
This presentation was given at the 2006 Virginia Emergency Management Conference: Quarterbacking Emergency Management. The briefing describes StormReady and TsunamiReady, two grassroots programs designed to improve communications and hazard preparedness in communities. The initial briefing was followed by a discussion of the National Hurricane Center's new probability products, which improve the means of conveying forecast uncertainty to users.
