"Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region VII deployed its Disaster Field Training Operation (DFTO) to the Area Field Office (AFO) immediately after a tornado struck Greensburg, Kansas, in May 2007. This enabled trainers to gain a greater awareness of the nature of the disaster response, to conduct a detailed assessment of training needs, and to plan field training accordingly."
