ABSTRACT

Hurricane Season of 1966   [open pdf - 25MB]

"The 1966 hurricane season began early and ended late. While the number of storms was only slightly above normal, hurricane days totalled 50, well above the yearly average of 33 and the second highest of record tabulated since 1954. [...] There were fewer casualties in the United States in all of 1966 than in hurricane Betsy of 1965, even though there were two hurricanes which made landfall."
