"On November 15, 2011, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region VII, conducted an exercise in the plume emergency planning zone (EPZ) around the Wolf Creek Generating Station. In addition, out-of-sequence drills were conducted on October 13 and October 27, 2011. The purpose of the exercise and drills was to assess the level of State and local preparedness in responding to a radiological emergency. The exercise and drills were held in accordance with FEMA's policies and guidance concerning the exercise of State and local radiological emergency response plans and procedures. The previous exercise at this site was conducted on June 3, 2009. The qualifying emergency preparedness exercise was conducted on November 7, 1984."
